Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot be waived under Norwegian law. A complete Norwegian translation will be published after legal review.

1. Agreement to these Terms

These Terms form the agreement between you and Charon Universe AS, org. no. 938 272 093 (“we”, “us”) for ResearchPartner. By actively accepting them when creating an account, reaccepting a material update, or placing an order, you agree to them. Mandatory consumer law always prevails.

2. Who we are

3. The ResearchPartner service

ResearchPartner provides bilingual research planning, milestone, literature, ethics, meeting, notes, analysis, writing, presentation, and publication-planning tools. It supports research work but does not replace a supervisor, institution, ethics body, statistician, lawyer, publisher, editor, or professional adviser. It does not guarantee approval, publication, funding, a degree, or any academic result.

4. Academic and research responsibility

You remain responsible for research design, academic integrity, citations, permissions, ethics approvals, data-management plans, institutional policies, journal requirements, and the accuracy of every submission. Check current requirements with your institution and publication venue.

5. Research data and prohibited content

Do not enter participant identities, raw interview transcripts, health data, special-category personal data, confidential third-party material, passwords, or secrets unless the service expressly supports that data and you have a documented lawful basis. Use participant codes where provided and keep the re-identification key outside ResearchPartner.

6. Your content and intellectual property

You retain ownership of your original research content. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to host and process it only to provide, secure, maintain, and support the service and meet legal obligations. The ResearchPartner software, templates, interface, and platform design belong to Charon Universe AS or its licensors.

7. Acceptable use

Do not use the service unlawfully, infringe rights, upload material without permission, disrupt or probe the service, bypass security or plan limits, scrape protected data, or use the service to build a competing product.

8. Plans, prices, payment and tax

Current individual Pro catalogue prices are shown on the Plans page before checkout. Stripe checkout is quoted in EUR and Vipps checkout in NOK. We show the selected term, currency, applicable MVA/VAT, renewal behaviour, and total before confirmation. Payment may be processed by Stripe or Vipps MobilePay, whose terms may also apply. We do not store full card details. ResearchPartner activates paid access only after verified payment confirmation.

9. Renewal, cancellation and access

Any recurring plan must be actively selected and clearly identified before payment; it is never preselected. One-time plans do not renew automatically. Recurring access may be cancelled before the next charge from the account or through support. Access ends when the paid term ends, subject to mandatory consumer rights and the terms displayed with the order.

10. Right of withdrawal and refunds

Consumers normally have a 14-day right of withdrawal for online purchases under the Norwegian Right of Withdrawal Act. If you request immediate delivery of a digital service during that period, we obtain the consent and acknowledgement required by law. 11. Privacy and third-party services

Personal data is handled under our Privacy Policy. Integrations and payment providers process data under their own terms and privacy information. Where an institutional agreement requires it, a data processing agreement may apply.

12. Availability, changes and termination

We aim to provide a reliable service and reasonable notice of planned maintenance. We may improve or change features while preserving mandatory rights. We may suspend access when necessary for security, unlawful use, non-payment after notice, or legal compliance. Material Terms changes are versioned and require active reacceptance.

13. Conformity, liability and disputes

Consumers retain all remedies that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including rights under digitalytelsesloven. Except for mandatory rights, automated outputs and guidance are provided as aids and must be checked. Norwegian law governs these Terms; consumers retain mandatory protection and complaint routes in their country of residence.
